2010-2011 ENRICHMENT SCHEDULE

MONDAY:

*Fine Art included in MM curriculum
Fine art is introduced by our art teacher Mrs. Joanne Peterson through mixed sensory mediums such as watercolor and acrylic paints along with other introductory materials.  Children will learn the basics, from how to hold a paint brush, mix color and finally create various finished art work while learning the history of different artists and styles.

Lango SPANISH

TUESDAY:

*Bible included in MM curriculum
Mrs. Tristan Jorden teaches the Christian curriculum using the "Little Blots of Faith" weekly units combined with the kinetic Montessori approach to learning through music, art and hands on activities during a weekly group lesson.  Children learn a Biblical verse and use the hands-on materials from the lesson throughout each week during class work time.
Toddlers 9:30 Preschool 10:00 and 10:30 Primary 11:00

Klay Kids (Ceramics)
Children will create seasonal ceramic keepsakes and creations from clay that will be molded, fired and painted with ceramics teacher Ms. Sandy.
$60 per month / Recommended for ages 2 1/2+. 10:30-11:00 and 11:00-11:30 AM

Gymnastics Express
Children will build strength, flexibility and endurance through tumbling, incline mat and bars and will participate in end of the year performances to exhibit their acquired abilities.  All skills are taught in progression and every child leaves the class feeling successful.
$45 per month / Recommended for ages 3+. 3:00-3:45 PM

WEDNESDAY:

D... is for Dance, Ballet and Creative Movement
Ballet and Tap class is offered every Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 with Ms. Lena Thomas.  Children are introduced to beginning ballet and creative movement through ballet bar, floor and circle time activities.  Dancers participate in a spring and winter performance.  Ballet Slippers, Leotard and Tights or comfortable clothing is recommended.
$45 per month / Ages 3+ 3:00-3:45

 

THURSDAY:

*Music and Movement included in MM curriculum
Children will participate in singing songs, music education, introduction to various musical instruments and musical genres each week during a group lesson with Mr. Jules.
Toddlers 9:30 Preschool 10:00 & 10:30 Primary 11:00

Soccer Shots is taught by Mr. Bryan. Children will learn soccer skills, team concepts, and active lifestyle habits. A high emphasis is also placed on character development, honesty, sharing, and respect.
$125 / 10 week session, Ages 2-6 yrs, Thursdays 3:00pm

* These classes are included in the Mission Montessori curriculum and do not require additional fees.
